Apelsin

The story of "Apelsin" is in fact three stories at once. With photographs from my mothers childhood and archive footage from the Iran-Iraq war, we see a family live under constant uncertainty. Through the lens of my father’s video camera we can see my mother taking her first steps in Sweden and choosing the country for her new home. In the airport of Gothenburg she walked around, scared and confused. Her voice of today narrating the story of her past, and a video of me enjoying the oranges she refused to leave behind, finishes the story. Oranges I today can enjoy because of her journey to this other country, Sweden.
